Our Mission

The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) estimates over 80% of information used by government contains a geographic component.  The intent of the Belmont County Geographic Information System (GIS) is to assist government in making decisions which include geographic, or location, elements.

Department Profile

The Belmont County GIS is a one-person operation consisting of a Director who is employed by the County Engineer as the Engineer's contribution to a countywide GIS.
