Our Mission

The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) estimates over 80% of information used by government contains a geographic component.  The intent of the Belmont County Geographic Information System (GIS) is to assist government in making decisions which include geographic, or location, elements.

Department Profile

The Belmont County GIS is comprised of a collaborative effort on the part of the Belmont County Engineer and the Belmont County Commissioners through their office, E-911, Sanitary Sewer and Water, and Soil and Water Conservation.  The Director is employed by the County Engineer as the Engineer's contribution to an enterprise-wide county GIS.
